Pet Photo Sessions

Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened

Why do a pet photo session?
Pets are a part of your family. They love you and bring so much happiness. Having professional photos is so important because (unfairly) they don't live long enough. You will be so thankful to have great photos to remember their little personalities.
Planning a pet photo session-
Location-
Some pets love to be outside frolicking in the grass and running around. There are lots of great outdoor locations to take photos of your pet and show their personality. I know of a few beautiful places where there aren't lots of distractions. You can also choose your own out door location that you and your pet love.
Some pets love to be and do better for photos indoors. They love a little couch or bed snuggle. There is a studio I love to do pet photos in. We can also do them in your home if your pet is more comfortable there.
Photos of you and your pet-
You and your pet are family and taking photos of pets interacting and playing with their humans is my favorite! If you would like to be in some of the photos, It is a good idea to wear a color that doesn't blend in with your pets fur or scale or feather color:) Also, patterns are fine as long as they aren't super busy.
I can guarantee that you will be so thankful to have photos of you and your beloved pet in the future!!
What if my pet is shy and nervous?
We will do whatever your pet needs to be comfortable. If they are happier in their own home, we can do them there. We can take time to warm up before the session as well.
What if my pet is a crazy wild little thing?
Active and wild pets are awesome! I have been around SO many crazy dogs, I have a few in my family:)
I have taken photos of the dogs at the animal shelter the last few years and I have experience taking photos of all types of personalities. I promise there will be lots of good photos, even if they are a little nuts!
How can I get my pet ready for their session?
It is always good, if you have a super active dog, to take them for a walk or let them run around for a bit before their session. Just don't wear them out too much. We don't want them worn out.
We will take our time and do the photos at a pace that your pet is comfortable with. I always want it to be a fun and happy experience for your pets and for you!
A few more bits of information-
-Sessions are $100. There is an extra fee for studio sessions.
-I will take posed photos and action - candid photos of your pet. We will have fun so they can show their little personality.
-You can bring any toys, tennis balls, or anything else that your dog likes to play with or a stuffed toy or blanket that is special to them. We can add these in to some of the photos.
-I always bring some good treats to get their attention when doing the posed photos. You can bring any treats or noisy toys that get their attention as well.
-Milestone photo sessions are always fun! If you want to do some birthday photos, it's fun to bring a banner or a birthday hat. Also, cake smashes are fun with pets too! There are so many dog friendly cake recipes and cakes online. I can always bring something if you need me to!!
-Themed photos!! I love themed pet photos. Holidays, movie themes, decade themes, really anything you can imagine, we can do! I have quite a few props and things to add to most any theme photo session.
-We can have a pre session chat to discuss all of the details and you can tell me about your sweet pet. We can make a plan so that we have a wonderful photos session and playtime.
